Compared to the past, Singapore's fashion industry is definitely booming and becoming more mature. The government has placed more emphasis and is pumping more money into helping locals to come up with their brands and to help advertise them. In comparison to the big fashion cities, we are still very green in this area of field. Just like how the fashion shows affects the way people dresses in the fashion cities like Japan, Hongkong and in the west, I believe it`ll affect the way how Singaporean dresses. Our fashion industry is gonna be an up and coming "HOT" field to work in. With more malls being built and the government decision to turn Singapore into a fashion hub where buyers can fly to Singapore to attend fashion shows, I believe that Singaporeans will be more fashion concious and fashion forward. Hopefully after I graduate with my degree there`s a glamourous job waiting for me!!!

Asos newsletter

Currently, I would say that Singaporeans, especially the younger crowds are pretty fashion concious. I think the media plays a very very big role in influencing what's in and what's not. Because of technology, we`re able to have the latest information and fashion inspiration from international and local blogs. Most of the latest trends in Singapore are actually very much influenced by the high street fashion brands such as TOPSHOP, FOREVER 21, ZARA etc. If you signed up for a copy of an ASOS.COM newsletter, you`ll actually have latest insights to what`s currently really in trend. There is also a boom in the number of blogshops/livejournals in Singapore. They sell pieces that are inspired by the high street brands at a fraction of a price. If you are one who do not like to follow the norm and have a unique sense of dressing, you could shop at Haji Lane or Ann Siang street. There are even a lot of fleas available to build up your wardrobe.

I personally do not like judging people in blogs because I believe everyone is entitled to their own style and way of thinking. There is no " ORIGINAL FASHION " . Style is taking the inspiration from all other people and injecting your own character into whatever suits your personality. As the great Chuck Palahnuik said " Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known." Having said that I think the biggest NAYY is to see people wear the latest fashion that doesnt suit their body shape. I will be a lil fashion critic today and these are my top 3 Nays of Singapore Fashion.

On the no 1 spot we have . . .

1. HIGH WAISTED SKIRTS FOR FULLER FIGURED GIRLS
Although a high waisted skirt is an essential in a girls wardrobe, I believe that not everyone should wear it just to follow the trend. Fuller figured girls should avoid it as it would place focus on the stomach. Further more if it`s above knee length, it isnt flattering on the thighs.

(real sorry to whoever you are!!! :< )

2. WEARING SLIPPERS WITH SHORTS
Unless you`re heading to the beach or going out of your house for a short while, I think that wearing a tee, shorts and slippers is just sloppy and a lazy way of dressing. Especially when it comes to school (poly/uni), my mom says we should always be presentable and not leave the house like we`re going to the market. HOWEVER, it`s okay to wear slippers if your clothes is boho like a maxi dress or long skirt. I guess the type of slippers you`re wearing plays a big part on how you`ll look too.

3. Wearing PJs out!!!

Seriously, just like the slippers, it depends on what kinda pyjamas you wear. If you get those with really nice fabrics and patterns say from Lasenza and match with the right stuff no one will really know! Hahah Anyways, if you wear a conventional one like the one above, it kinda portray a person with a heck care attitude who dont have the decency to even change before getting out of the house. Remember!! Your clothes portray your character and it`s the first thing people judge when they see you. But just for the fun of it , I decided to mix and match the pyjamas outfit so that it'll go undisguise! heheh

(Harem pants hahah! )

Okay, I hope you like my private moments with my pyjamas! bye!
